Location: Rome, Zero9 swimming pool (close to the underground station)
Pool Size: 1 or 2 pool, 22mt/15mt deep 2,10mt (plus warm up zone and mini hockey sub for teenager)
Rules: CMAS
Time: from 12pm to 19pm (It’s depend of the number of the team)
Cost: 12€ for single player or 100€ for team

To all international under water hockey’s sport community

Dear Players,
We are glad to inform you that the 1st international under water hockey tournament in Rome is now ready to be forwarded to everybody. Is a long time, since 1999, that we have the idea to organize a weekend that could be used each year by all of the uwh’s players to have fun and also have the opportunity to visit the city of Rome. After I have worked, last summer, like team leader of all the press tribune , into the FINA’s World championship of swimming, I have trying to take one of the prestigious and official swimming pool, created for this international event where some country, like the USA’s team was using for training.

Is the first international’s date that we are organizing. We will completely never be ready if we don’t start and wait the support of everybody, like we do as well when we have participated in your tournament, not with Romaquatik’s name but mixed with players of another Italian team like HSDucale of Parma or Assetto Variable of Bologna. Many players are waiting to come. For political and religious reasons, this official communication takes so long to be sent and for this first edition, we have only find this date that is on Saturday like most of the players have asked. Rome is always full and busy, for that, more your answer will be fast and more the completed success of this event will be guaranteed.

Also I think that Sport, Friendship and Tourism can be as one, like Electtra Kalaugher (New Zealand and Holland’s player) teach me after that we started this under water hockey adventure in 1999 in Rome. For that, Saturday and Sunday morning are organized two different Tour with tourist’s guides. If someone want just have fun, an extra party on the roman’s beach including bus service is also in the schedule of the week end on Saturday night.

Suggestion: those prizes could be discounted in case of group and have to be reserved as soon as possible
Accommodation: 40€ per night, including dinner and breakfast, 1 underground stop to the swimming pool
Extra services: 10€ official meeting dinner
20€ Party at Ostia to an exclusive disco with swimming pool on the roman’s beach
15€ 4 Tour with professional Guide (depend of the number of the request)
Service of transport for group can be organized

For free: We have 2 mini buses with 7 sits, that we can include in the organization, we can offer a service of transport for little transfers and movement. Also all the stations close to the swimming pool and to the hotel are connected to the main underground lines for example to the coliseums, to the international train station and to the airport. 4 differents tour are organized: 2 for monuments, 1 for Rome by night, 1 for shopping . We will give for free the map of the tours if you would like to do it by your self. We will happy to help you to do the planning of your incoming and outgoing.

as soon as possible you will have the schedule to subscribe to this appointement that will take place in one of the biggest swimming pool created for the 2009 FINA world championship.

we are only waiting about some formal approvement from CMAS-FIPSAS, but anyway the program already sent (that you can find in the 1st official letter) is fixed in order to help people to find the better flight in case of travelling by plane. we are trying to make a special appointement on saturday where we can also offer the possibility to visit rome in the morning or make a tour on sunday (look about the services included).

is our first time so we are sorry if the organisation is not perfect, we are working on. help us to make a new international date in our wonderful city, that will offer each year a international meeting. we will chose also in future a date that is not close to any other national or international appointements. This time is is the only one that we could have to begin.

we send you some information and links that could help you to find other accommodations and plan your trip as better than possible. In the last We remember you that we have organized also the possibility to use a hotel close to the swimming pool which cost maximum 40 euro per person including dinner and breakfast. This special prize is also avaible for Friday night and could be reduced in case of a team composed by more than 6 players. The swimming pool and the hotel are very close (just one train’s stop). We can guarantee also that some mini buses can help you to make some little transfert. The underground line is the one that finish to the rome beach and start from Piramide station which is crossed by the line B to Termini (main international train station) and FM1 (Air plane terminal).

In the same hotel we are organizing the party that will start with a common dinner after the tournement. You can reserved it even if you don’t sleep in this hotel and that will cost just 10 euro. The party will continue with a “Rome by night Tour” in collaboration with a cultural event called “estate romana”, where concert, disco, pub and festival will be organized. We also remember that Saturday and Sunday morning different touristic tours are planned. You can ask for a guide if you want information about monuments and follow by your self the map that we will give to you.
